The Consulate General of Algeria in London organizes a mobile consular service in Birmingham
As part of its commitment to providing accessible and local services to members of the Algerian community, the Consulate General of Algeria in London organized a mobile consular service in Birmingham on 12 October 2025. The initiative attracted a large number of Algerian nationals residing in the city and surrounding areas, as well as some who travelled from more distant locations.
The event was also attended by the two Algerian students who achieved the highest marks in the Baccalaureate examinations in 2024 and 2025 respectively, and who are currently pursuing their studies at Aston University in Birmingham.
Citizens benefited from a wide range of consular services, particularly those relating to biometric passports, civil status, national service and powers of attorney. The consular team also provided the necessary information and answered various questions and concerns raised by members of the community.
The occasion provided the Consul General with an opportunity to meet members of the Algerian community and engage with them directly, in order to learn more about their circumstances, listen to their concerns and interests, and ensure appropriate follow-up on the issues raised.
The citizens in attendance expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which reflects the State’s commitment to strengthening communication with the Algerian community abroad. They also expressed their wish for such mobile consular services to continue and be organized on a regular basis, particularly in view of the significant increase in the number of Algerian nationals living in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
