Commemorating the sixty-first anniversary of Victory Day (March 19, 1962)

The Algerian Embassy in the United Kingdom and the Consulate General in London commemorated the sixty-first anniversary of the Victory Day, corresponding to the nineteenth of March of each year, in the presence of Ambassador Lonas Makramane, Consul General Abdel Karim Baha, MP for the fourth region, Fares Rahmani, the staff of the embassy and the general consulate and a number of members of the national community residing in the Kingdom United Nations, where the national anthem was listened to, the national flag was raised and Al-Fatihah was recited to have mercy on the souls of the martyrs
At the outset of his speech on this occasion, Ambassador Lunas Mograman stressed the importance of this day, which is considered one of the stations worthy of celebration, and a renewed opportunity, in which we reaffirm the covenant on the approach of the 1st of November, recalling through it the exploits of our martyr ancestors, the mujahideen and the resistance fighters who wrote with their sacrifices immortal heroism in the glorious history of Algeria. And they drew landmarks for the generations after them to live in freedom and independence
The Ambassador also indicated that this new Algeria today, sovereign in its decision and dedicated to continuing the jihad of building and construction, under the wise leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Adding that it is the duty of all Algerian women and men, inside or outside the country, to be proud of their history and renew the covenant with it, to be proud of the exploits and heroics of their fathers and grandfathers and to preserve our great historical and cultural heritage, the legacy of our heroic martyrs.
