Exceptional measures to facilitate the entry of Algerian citizens into and out of the national territory

In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Republic and the directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad, the Consulate General of Algeria in London informs all members of the Algerian community that it was decided to extend exceptionally until 31 December 2026 the measures allowing holders of valid foreign passports to enter and exit the national territory without a visa, under the following conditions:

Presentation of a valid foreign passport together with the Algerian biometric national identity card, even if expired;

For citizens who do not possess an Algerian biometric national identity card, presentation of a valid foreign passport along with an expired Algerian biometric passport.

Children under the age of 15, travelling with their parents or legal guardians, may also enter Algerian territory upon presentation of a family book, family record (fiche familiale), birth certificate, or any document attesting to legal guardianship status (such as a kafala or a court judgment granting guardianship).

In cases where there is a discrepancy between the identity details appearing on the foreign passport and the Algerian documents, it is recommended to provide an individuality attestation in the event of minor spelling differences. A court order is required where the discrepancy is substantial, such as a completely different name.

Persons benefiting from these exceptional measures must present, when departing from Algeria, the same documents used upon entry.
